Nigerian Afrobeat musician and Son of Afrobeat legend, Olufela Olufemi Anikulapo Kuti, popularly known as Femi Kuti has said that he will not support President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 presidential election.

Femi made this known on Sunday 21st of October at the grand finale of Felabration 2018.

Kuti, who recently headlined the yearly Felabration event at the popular shrine in Lagos, openly stated that he won’t support the Buhari-led government because of his father, Fela Anikulapo Kuti and speaking the truth to power..

Kuti revealed this to the crowd in the presence of the Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo. He is also noted that the Vice President didn’t bribe the Kuti family, adding that the New Afrika Shrine is open to anyone.

Speaking about the Vice President’s visit, Femi said: “He said he wanted to come to shrine to see what everybody is saying about Shrine and I am happy that he came and saw that we are not mad here. He said he didn’t know this place was this big,” Femi said.
