Saraki Dumps APC Alongside APC Spokesman, Bolaji Abdullahi

Senate President Bukola Saraki has dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside the party spokesman, Bolaji Abdulai and the Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed. .
Saraki announced his defection in a tweet on his official handle @bukolasaraki, noting that his decision follows extensive consultations.

Although the Senate President is yet to announce the political party where he will be pitching his tent, he is currently in Kwara State, in a closed-door meeting with the State Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.
The meeting is holding at Saraki’s residence in Ilorin, Kwara State capital. Members of the National, State Assembly, Commissioners and 10 representatives from 16 Kwara local governments are said to be in attendance.
Saraki’s defection from the APC comes a week after the defection of many members of the Senate and House of Representatives from the ruling APC.
Saraki’s defection from the APC comes less than 24 hours after the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC dissolved the State Executive Committee of the party in Kwara State.
The dissolution according to a resolution signed by the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole,
was after the actions of some of the leaders of the party who participated in an open rally calling on the Senate President to decamp to the PDP.
The spokesperson of All Progressives Congress, [APC] Bolaji Abdullahi, on Tuesday resigned his post to join the Senate President, Bukola Saraki’s defection train, which TheNewsGuru can reliably report is en-route to People’s Democratic Congress, PDP.
Abdullahi resignation was announced few minutes after Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Kwara State Governor, Abdulfatah Ahmed formally announced their defection from the All Progressives Congress  to the Peoples Democratic Party.
It was  gathered from reliable sources that Saraki who made his announcement on his official social media handles will most likely join the Peoples Progressives Congress, PDP.
“I wish to inform Nigerians that, after extensive consultations, I have decided to take my leave of the All Progressives Congress (APC).” he wrote on his Twitter handle.
Mr Saraki’s defection has been largely expected from Nigerians especially after all the federal lawmakers from his Kwara State left the APC last week.
The Senate President is expected to join the main opposition party, PDP.

Mr Ahmed, Mr Saraki’s political ally, has also defected to the PDP.
A statement by his media aide, Muyideen Akorede, said the decision followed consultations with people in the state.
“Following due consultations with the people and in response to calls by major stakeholder groups in the state, Kwara State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed today defected to the People’s Democratic Party(PDP), having realized that the All Progressive Congress (APC) can longer serve as a platform for achieving the aspirations and expectations of his people,” the statement said.
