FLASHBACK: Here are Buhari’s tweets in 2015 criticising FG over insecurity in Nigeria

PRIOR to the 2015 general election, President Muhammadu Buhari, then presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC), did not miss any opportunity to blast the Goodluck Jonathan-led Federal Government over the level of insecurity in Nigeria.
However, three years after succeeding Jonathan, security in Nigeria did not get any better. If anything, it became much worse, even though Buhari and his cabinet insists otherwise.
Following the recent massacre by suspected herdsmen in Plateau State in which over 120 persons were killed, and houses and properties burnt down, several of Buhari’s 2015 posts have been going viral on tweeter as Nigerians express utter disappointment at the President’s inability to stop the incessant killings all over the country.
One of the tweets read: “It is unacceptable to ignore or minimize the deaths of Nigerian citizens because of elections. It is heart-breaking. This must change.”
Another read: “These Nigerians who have died because our government cannot protect them, they are not politicians. They deserve better. We deserve better.”
And yet another read: “Let me make you this promise today: We will protect your children. We will
protect your wealth. We will make this country work again.”
Meanwhile, President Buhari has blamed the recent killings in Plateau State on politicians whom he said were taking advantage of the conflict between herdsmen and farmers.
Buhari said this in a statement issued by Garba Shehu, his Senior Special Assistant on Medial and Publicity. According to the statement, the killings are the handiwork of “desperate people had pursued their quest for instability and chaos which they hoped would give them an advantage in the coming elections”.
“We know that a number of geographical and economic factors are contributing to the longstanding herdsmen/farmers clashes. But we also know that politicians are taking advantage of the situation. This is incredibly unfortunate,” the statement read.
Here are a few of Buhari’s tweets prior to the 2015 election:
