Trump: Senate Republicans ‘look like fools’ if they don’t dump 60-vote rule

President Trump railed against Senate rules requiring a 60-vote majority to pass legislation in the Senate in a series of tweets early Saturday morning, saying that the rule is “killing the R party” and “allows 8 Dems to control the country.”
President Trump took to Twitter early Saturday morning to blast Senate rules requiring 60 votes to defeat a filibuster, versus a simple majority of the 100-member governing body.
He blasted Republican senators in his latest appeal for an end to the three-fifths majority filibuster rule, calling it “outdated” and stating that lawmakers in his party who were unable to get the votes to repeal President Obama’s Affordable Care Act this week “look like fools and are just wasting time.”
Under current rules, 60 votes are required to end debate on legislation in the Senate. Modifying the rules to allow a filibuster to be defeated with a 51-vote majority would prevent Senate Democrats from filibustering in future legislative fights, as the GOP currently holds a majority.

MS-13, the Gang Trump Said He Would Decimate, Is One of Texas’s Most Powerful

Just a few days before President Trump on Friday promised to decimate MS-13, the state of Texas released a threat assessment that said MS-13 is among a handful of the most dangerous of 20 criminal gangs, with as many as 100,000 members that operate across the state.
MS-13 and three other Hispanic gangs were categorized as the biggest threat to public safety based on their relationships with Mexican cartels and their high levels of violence and transnational crime, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety assessment, which was released Tuesday. There are about 500 members of MS-13 in Texas, the DPS estimates, operating in a regional cell model. That means the gang is composed of several cells in the state that are all part of MS-13 but generally act independently, with little control or command between cells.

Trump, Republican Suffer Another Defeat As Obamacare Repeal Failed

Senator John McCain’s ‘no’ vote ensured that the majority Republican Congress failed to repeal the Obamacare as legislators voted in the floor of the Senate.
In a stinging blow to President Donald Trump, U.S. Senate Republicans failed on Friday to dismantle Obamacare, falling short on a major campaign promise and perhaps ending a seven-year quest by their party to gut the healthcare law.
Voting in the early hours, three Republican senators, John McCain, Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski, crossed party lines to join Democrats in a dramatic 49-to-51 vote to reject a “skinny repeal” bill that would have killed some parts of Obamacare.
“This is clearly a disappointing moment,” Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell said on an eerily quiet Senate floor right after the vote. “The American people are going to regret that we couldn’t find a better way forward.”

Why Do We Kiss?

Most people can recall their first kiss. There’s an electrifying feeling of excitement when two people kiss for the first time, as it Is recognised as the first intimate physical connection, which sometimes determines compatibility. While many believe kissing to be natural and intuitive, other anthropologists argue the practice is derived from “kiss feeding”, an old school process used by mothers to feed their infants by passing food to their baby’s mouths.
Janet Jackson and Tupac kiss in the movie “Poetic Justice”
The kissing culture dates all the way back to the 2nd century in the Vedic texts, and the Kama Sutra which originated from ancient India devotes an entire chapter to modes of kissing. History suggests that the practice of kissing has been passed on and adopted from one culture to another until it became super normal and eventually gained significance and purpose in our society. So why do we kiss? To what end and are we the only ones that do it?
Is it a basic natural human instinct?

It was a typical phone call between two boys playing and their mother, who was on vacation in France. It was brief - the boys wanted to get back to playing with their cousins, not spend time on the phone chatting

"Harry and I were in a desperate rush to say goodbye, you know 'see you later'... If I'd known now obviously what was going to happen I wouldn't have been so blase about it and everything else," William says in a new documentary. "But that phone call sticks in my mind, quite heavily."

Spieth got off to a rough start, bogeying three of his first four holes. Then on the 13th hole a wild tee shot forced Spieth to take an unplayable lie. He hit his next shot from the driving range. His recovery shot got him just short of the green and he ended up bogeying the hole, giving Kuchar a one-shot lead.
On the next hole, Spieth almost holed his tee shot but made a birdie. An eagle from 50 feet on the 15th hole gave the 23-year-old Texan the outright lead. He would go on to birdie the 16th and 17th holes.
With the win, Spieth has captured the third leg of a career grand slam, having won the 2015 Masters and U.S. Open. He shot 65 in Saturday’s round without a single bogey.

Chelsea destroy Arsenal in second strong pre-season performance

It may have been only a pre-season game and as we all know, all pre-season games are fake ones. But it was still a big occasion in the form of a rematch against Arsenal following our embarrassing loss to the Gunners in the FA Cup final. Thankfully the Chelsea players also treated it as more than just a mere fitness build-up exercise — Conte wouldn’t have it any other way, undoubtedly — dominating chances created and limiting Arsenal's offence en route to a 3-0 victory to continue pre-season on a great note after last week’s 8-2 win over Fulham.
Both managers decided to go with their best options available in their starting line-ups. On Antonio Conte's side, Diego Costa and Nemanja Matić, both of whom are set to leave the Bridge, gave way to Michy Batshuayi and Cesc Fàbregas, respectively, while Pedro took over the left side of our attack for the injured Eden Hazard. Meanwhile in Arsène Wenger's corner, Alex Iwobi took over for Alexis Sánchez who is seemingly not too keen on staying with the Gunners. Wenger also had new record signing Alexandre Lacazette as centre forward, former non-league player Cohen Bramall at left wing back and Ainsley Maitland-Niles as a centre back in place of Shkodran Mustafi.
